Betchay in the blogging world, here she is during the Seoul shoot of Only Youlast March. See Diet holding the boom mic while Angel is waiting for the shoot.
Happy birthday, Ana! Are you gonna watch Guns N' Roses this Sunday?
Last Sunday, Journey's 1981 hit Don't Stop Believin' was performed by the 24 survivors of Philippine talent search Starstruck. Gleeks out there will remember this hit being performed in the pilot of American show Glee.
Last month, the re-imagining of 80s TV show V premiered in the States. Next year, the 80s Filipino hit movie Working Girls will be re-imagined as well, starring Miss Eugene Domingo, among others.
This year, the most searched word in yahoo is probably the biggest headliner from the 80s era, Michael Jackson. Speaking of MJ, here are some of his acrobat dancers from This Is It, his concert film featuring his big hits from the 80s:
Even the toys from the 80s are coming to life on the big screen, from GI Joe to Transformers, indeed the 80s are back. And even Aqua has a song about it:
And we in Geoje, South Korea will not be left behind.
Last month, it was not only Miley Cyrus who celebrated her birthday by giving 80s a throwback, but our very own Tey also.
Me with the celebrant in tie, the host in cap, and one of the best in costume winners.
With the celebrant and the best in costume winners.
With blurred Gabbie.
With the food and other par-tey folks. That cake was yummy!
And with the rest of gang! Thanks Val for the pic!
Don't stop believing; the 80's are definitely baaaak!
With my friends and the real DJ who helped make this happen.
Thanks for my first Fendora, Napo!
Playing with the cool girl who came down all the way from Ulsan!
Let's go catch a game!
The two girls beside me kept cheering everyone's glasses with or without the other persons knowledge haha.
Karen Ryan beside the Black Bitch Aimee is the other Filipina in the house! She is happily married to Joe Ryan the French Maid and a real ABS inspector.
Me and Napo posing with the couple from the army.
Jojojo-Joker face would like to thank the Black Bitch for his make up and Aristo for the outfit.
IT WAS A FUN NIGHT OF DRESSING UP, DANCING, MAKE UP, and MEETING NEW PEOPLE...Till the next Halloween!
After inspecting the relief operations area the day before, and thanks to the cancellation of my prenuptial pictorials, my sister and I were able to start early on shopping for relief goods.
My family and Tesha helped pack all the relief goods which consisted of rice, meds, noodles, canned goods and used clothing. Our neighbor Bebe dropped by to give us relief good packers some doughnuts for snacks. The Barangay officials of Lias provided the vehicle and manpower for our relief operations. Kudos to them for being readily available for public service!
And off we went to the site:
Before coming in, the volunteer vehicles of Ping Medina's Soup Kitchen have just finished serving food to the people and are on they way out. Earlier while shopping for goods, we have been seeing their volunteers along the roads of Marilao, Bulacan. As we were on our way to deliver the packed relief goods, one of their volunteers smiled and shouted, "KAYO NAMAN!" (IT'S YOUR TURN NOW"!)
The people line up for food inside the elementary school. We passed by this school and lots of people are still waiting outside the gate (Pic fro Brgy Soup Kitchen's facebook)
Indeed we had our turn. And my young nieces felt the joy of serving the underprivileged. We realized that people need by doing this are the following: cooking and kitchen wares and underwear. Most of the utensils and were washed away by flood and the people are still drying up what is left of their clothing when we were there. These days, most probably some of them are suffering from the world's worst pandemic of leptospirosis.
At the end of the video clip above, Tesha rightfully exclaimed "Kailangan din ng school supplies" ("They also need school supplies"). As many schoolchildren were not able to immediately go back to school the next day (we went on a Sunday) because their school materials were also washed away.
It is almost a whole day dedicated for the people in need. And time spent most wisely all of us agreed we could do this all over again. Only if we had the financial resources.
Speaking of resources, this relief operations would not have been possible without the generous donations of the Filipinos in our company and our Korean and Filipino friends. Mabuhay kayong lahat! Long live!
Happy birthday, Carlo! I hope you get a good deal on your camera. Sayang, di tayo nagabot sa PIFF. I was able to catch Rianne and spend some time with Yoo Sun as well during my stint at the festival. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Korea!
It's the final day of my Korean Thanksgiving '09 holidays and my final day in my country for this year. Sadly, I will be spending Christmas in Korea.
No, they did not go to the rest room. I am the only passenger in this row. Apparently, travelers to Manila at this time chickened out because of the typhoons!
I was surprised to learn that Korea got colder! Autumn has really set in and winter is just around the corner.
I'm planning to exit Korea again at the end of the year and spend the year-end celebrations again in another country. Hopefully this plan materializes.
For the meantime, it's back to Busan again this weekend to meet a couple of good friends.
It's my final day in the Philippines and high time that I take a break from all the Philippine typhoon relief operations (not that I'm complaining though)
Met up with university dorm mates: Doc Nino on the far end, Dennis from Japan, and Leya who I thought is also from Japan. Dennis & Leya I have not met in the past 7 years!
Oh yeah, my university room mate Ebe is also on the scene. That San Mig Strong Ice was cooled Sub Zero! Because a chilled beer glass in tropical Manila is simply not enough.
Before meeting my friends in Greenbelt Makati, I came from a fantastic Korean comedy film Driving My Wife's Lover in Edsa Shangrila where the free Korean Film Fest extended its run. But before this vacation, I did come from Seoul, where I passed by to get to the airport.
We did rock hard! Oh, they did.
It's her birthday tomorrow..Happy birthday, Leya!
Oh yeah, parang Yakal Open House party lang.
Centerstage Family KTV & Resto Bar in Jupiter, Makati deserves the Resto part of its name. The food is awesome and the service is very good. And we were lucky to be there in time for the 50% off on room rental for a group of at least 4 guys.
The rest of the day we met with another dorm mate Bob for lunch still in Makati, balikbayans Dennis & I pampered ourselves in Greenbelt, and I met with Ikka after 4 years for a Spanish film and a walk at Bonifacio High Street.
Manila may have been wetted by typhoons but life goes on. It was a good kiss goodbye before flying back here in Korea.
There's a mistake in my post yesterday. Jun's birthday is today and not last monday. His lovely wife Lhai's birthday is a day before his and a day after her husband's Goddaughter's birthday. This pic still taken during the couple's son's first birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY FRIENDS! Hope to see you and Liam next month when I go home ^^
Yesterday, my university friend Jun celebrated his birthday. Today, his Goddaughter Mae and my niece celebrates hers. This pic I took when we attended Liam's first birthday. Liam is Jun's son and my Godson.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAE!
Your very first camera will be yours in ten days! :)
For now, I hope you enjoy your field trip with your teachers and classmates!~
I am currently watching the Filipino version of Korean drama Stairway to Heaven, my second Filipino Kdrama after Only You.
These are pics of the Stairway to Heaven in Oedo island in Geoje, my current hometown. Contrary to popular belief, this is not the shooting location of the Korean drama. I have not found an online resource that claims that. This, however is the location for the ending of Winter Sonata according to the Oedo website.
View from the top of the stairs.
My tour mates taking a rest from walking down the stairs.
Of course this day will always be remembered as the Opening of the Beijing Olympics. Historic as it is, the British tourist in the bar in Panglao beach in Bohol, Philippines treated everyone watching the ceremonies to all the drinks they can consume. It was indeed a lucky night.
Earlier during the day, we goofed around Bohol with my Korean guests.
Chocolate Hills!
August 8, 2009
Exactly one month ago, I ended my Summer '09 vacation in Manila and went back to Korea. Here's a couple of pics from the return flight:
With Gina beside me, I am not surprised I was not able to take a nap.
After dinner and watching a silent film with friends (tickets courtesy of the Italian Embassy!), Ebe & I went condo hopping in the metro. Nice to see my former university dorm mates move from a tiny space in a dorm to spacious condo units. One such unit is Nino's:
Nino is my next door neighbor at our university dorm and my future dermatologist ^^
I am excited for next month's PIFF where PHILIPPINES is the country of honor!
We had Jollibee deliver chicken, spaghetti and cheeseburger while watching The Uninvited, the hollywood remake of a fine Korean horror film A Tale Of Two Sisters.
